Chef's Notes:

Choose 20 blocks from Moda Bake Shop’s “Winter Frost” collection. You will need: two 18” blocks, six 6” blocks, twelve 12” blocks. I show the top and bottom piano key borders, made from 58 2.5” x 6.5” (cut size) strips. However, you’ll use up more scraps if you just cut narrower leftover strips of any width to 6.5” long, and just keep sewing them together side-by-side until you have two 6.5” x 58.5” pieced strips.

YIELD

58” x 76” quilt

INGREDIENTS

(2) 18” blocks
(6) 6” blocks
(12) 12” blocks
1¼ yards sashing fabric
scraps for borders
½ yard binding fabric
4½ yards backing fabric

CUTTING

From Sashing Fabric, cut (14) 2.5” x WOF Strips. CUT:
(8) 2.5” x 12.5” strips
(2) 2.5” x 18.5” strips
(4) 2.5” x 26.5” strips
(4) 2.5” x 28.5” strips
(2) 2.5” x 30.5” strips
(1) 2.5” x 32.5” strip
(2) 2.5” x 34.5” strips

FOR BORDERS:
(58) 2.5” x 6.5” strips, pieced into (2) 6.5” x 58.5” strips

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1. CUTTING

Cut sashing fabric per list on PAGE 1, refer to cutting diagram for how to cut from the strips.

STEP 2. ASSEMBLE QUILT

Join quilt blocks and sashing as shown. Add piano key borders on top and bottom.

Baste, quilt and bind.
